Over the decade, HKCSS has been actively promoting cross-sectoral collaboration when much attention among partners across sectors has been put into different social agenda, together with consolidated experiences and resources on formulating partnership projects. Based on the past success of setting the foundation for cross-sectoral partnership, collaboration across professions will be uptrend in years ahead for co-creating solutions for our society, which will be responding to social needs in a strategic and impact driven approach. Through the sharing by distinguished speakers and group discussion among participants, the session aims to discuss different collaboration models across sectors and professions, and the process of "collaborating" to "co-creating" for social values. Participants will share and contribute ideas on how the concepts could become actionable through inspirations gained from the illustrated examples and the co-creation framework that HKCSS promotes.

In this VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity) world especially after the pandemic, just like any other sector, NGOs are facing unprecedented challenges. With the increasing complexity of social problems in the New Era, it would be crucial for the social service sector to attract, develop and retain more diverse talent for the delivery of quality social services. Now more than ever, NGOs would need to rethink their talent development strategies more holistically for building future leadership and talent pipeline. In this session, the speakers will share their cross-sectoral insights and challenges on driving talent development initiatives so as to cater for the evolving development needs of the organizations as well as the future talent pool.

The COVID-19 epidemic has accelerated the application of technology in social and economic activities, including applications in hybrid office operation and service provision, automated processes, data applications, remote services, and gerontechnology, etc.
Speakers of this session will share their stories of success, and discuss with session participants on how to make good use of technology to develop innovative services. Focuses include development of user-centric, data-driven services, cross-sectoral technology collaboration and co-creation, leveraging technology in change management and talent development, etc.
2D - Developing the Greater Bay Area Ideal for People to Live and Work

Since the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (the "Plan") officially announced in 2019, the "9+2" cities in the Greater Bay Area have deepening their efforts on exchanges and cooperation for jointly developing the Greater Bay Area into a high-quality living circle for living, working and travelling. Different stakeholders collaborate to develop interface and interconnectivity in policy measures, services and professional exchange so as to promote effective leverage and allocation of social resources and to enhance the dovetailing of cross-boundary public services and welfare services, for creating development opportunities and better living conditions for residents in the Greater Bay Area.
This session will be held in the form of a roundtable. Guest speakers will discuss social and welfare-related issues in the Greater Bay Area, the advantages of Hong Kong and the role of Hong Kong NGOs in contributing the Greater Bay Area ideal for people to live and work.
2E - How Data Science Promote Evidence Based Practice in Social Work

While the power of using data science in analysis have been shown in many sectors, the adaptation of data science in the social wok sector is still uncommon. Nevertheless, there are still quite a lot of pilot attempt in different NGOs in applying data science in their service. This session is to provide a platform for the sector to share their latest application of data science in their services, and to discuss future development of data science in the social service sector and what can be done collectively to create synergy in this subject area.
5A - Youth Development and Participation

Growing up in a rapidly changing society, young people nowadays face a lot more uncertainties, yet new possibilities also emerge. Just like youth participation can take different forms and depths, from expressing opinions, exerting influence to participating in decision-making. This session aims to discuss ways to respond to youth’s aspiration for participation in the current social context, drawing from past experiences of youth workers, and explore key directions for future development of relevant services and practices.
5B - Role of Social Service on Primary Healthcare Engagement - Use of Social Capital Resources to Improve Health of Target Groups

5C - Community Support for Carer

"The report of the Consultancy Study on Needs and Support Required of Carers of Elderly Persons and of Persons with Disabilities in Hong Kong," published by the government in 2022, recommends four directions to support carers, including community-based caregivers. In this regard, the HKCSS hopes to focus on this suggestion, study the needs of carer-oriented community service, share the service practice framework and results with cross-sectoral people, and explore multi-sector collaboration to develop a sustainable model of community support for carers.
5D - Mental Health Recovery from the Pandemic

The pandemic has lasted for three years, causing much mental distress to the citizens, and the situation is worrying. In this regard, the Government announced in the Policy Address 2020 that it would earmark $300 million in the Beat Drugs Fund to subsidize the implementation of mental health projects, strengthen community support and raise public awareness of mental health. The HKCSS hopes to share the research data on the mental health of Hong Kong citizens under the pandemic and the model of community support services and to discuss the direction of collaboration, multidisciplinary and cross-sectoral, to promote mental health recovery jointly.
5E - De-hospitalization of Death

When medical science and technology were yet to flourish, dying at home was nothing special. Each part of the community supports the death, and loss of community members. However, with the development of medical system, advancement of technology to extend life and conquer disease, pain or even death, it is common for those with chronic illnesses to have their last chapter closed in medical institutions. Yet, palliative care service is not widely welcome and important service in hospital. Now, dying in a familiar place, and being accompanied by family members, becomes a wish difficult to come true. In order to have the dying process more humanized, let those dying rest in peace, and smoothen the grief process of family members, there are a number of projects to promote palliative services in the community. Through discussion with different sectors, this session aims at engaging various stakeholders, consolidating experiences and identifying the major challenges, in order to build consensus on "Good Life and Good Death, Good Grief", and co-create various solutions together.
