Ms. Bonnie SO

Ms. Bonnie SO holds Bachelor Degree in Religious Studies/ Journalism and Communication, Master Degree in New Media, and Diploma Certificate in Social Work of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), High Diploma Certificate in Integrated Marketing Communications of the HKU Space, Executive Master of Business Administration of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and attended a Strategic Perspectives in Non-profit Management Course in Harvard Business School.

Bonnie joined the Hong Kong Red Cross in 90s participating in different humanitarian services, management functions and fundraising, and became the Chief Executive Officer/ Secretary General in 2015.  She has been involving in a wide range of disaster relief and reconstruction projects all over the world, such as the war thorn areas in Afghanistan, tsunami in Sri Lanka and Indonesia, cyclone in Bangladesh, earthquake in Pakistan, flooding and earthquake in the mainland China, etc. She is the founding member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Asia Pacific Fundraisers’ Network in 2010.

In 2006, Ms. SO was awarded The Ten Outstanding Young Persons of Hong Kong.  In 2012, she established the Face-to-Face Monthly Giving Alliance in Hong Kong as the founding Chairperson. Currently, she is the Chairman of the Steering Committee on Work in Mainland China of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, advisor of the Association Concerning Sexual Violence Against Women, and the InspiringHK Sports Foundation.  She is a member of the Advisory Panel for M.A. in Global Communication and B.S.Sc. in Global Communication Programmes, CUHK.  In 2022, she was awarded Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Chief Executive’s Commendation for Community Service.
