• How Data Science Promote Evidence Based Practice in Social Work

Prof. CHIU received his first degree from Imperial College London, and his PhD degree in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University. He worked in the computer industry in the US for 20 years, and joined the Information Engineering Department at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2002. He was the department chairman from 2009 to 2015, and retired (became Emeritus Professor) in 2017. He is now helping Caritas Institute start a new Data Science Research Center for Social Policies and Services.
