William manages the secretariat of the Hongkong Bank Foundation, a charitable trust established by HSBC, and is responsible for the implementation of its mission and strategy in Hong Kong. As a member of HSBC's Global Sustainability function, he also oversees a portfolio of global philanthropic programmes that aim to support people and communities to transition to a low carbon future.

William joined HSBC in 2004 and had since led a wide range of charitable and corporate citizenship programmes. In 2015, William was hired by the Hong Kong Jockey Club to drive philanthropic projects on education innovation and talent development. William returned to HSBC in 2019 and was appointed to its current role in 2021.
